BIOGRAPHY

Anupong Charoenmitr (b.1981, Bangkok) received a Bachelor in Fine Art from Rangsit University, Thailand (2002-06) and a Master in Fine Art from the Faculty of Painting, Sculpture and Graphic Arts, Silpakorn University, Thailand (2011-13). His work comes from personal and collective memory, social issues, and visual culture that affects people's perceptions.

Anupong was selected for Cross Stitch, an exhibition for young artists initiated by the Bangkok Art and Culture Center (Thailand, 2013). He has exhibited internationally i.e. Incubarte7 by LA Metro Gallery (Spain, 2015) and 5 MINUTES International Short Video Biennial by P74 Gallery (Slovenia, 2015). His work is a part of Bangkok Layer: Topography of Mirror Cities by Baan Noorg Collaborative Arts and Culture (Thailand, 2018) and was a part of Bangkok Art Biennale 2018 | Beyond Bliss. And He has exhibited The 19th and 20th Silpa Bhirasri's Creativity Grants Exhibition by Art Centre Silpakorn University (Thailand, 2022)

His work was selected as one of 10 finalists in the video section of the international Arte Laguna Prize (Italy, 2014). He received 1st prize at International Video Festival, Digitalbigscerrn 2015 at Trbovlje New-Media (Slovenia, 2015), and was selected as one of 3 finalists in the Digital/video section of Prudential Eye Awards at ArtScience Museum (Singapore, 2016). Anupong was awarded the winning prize for the Artist residency of 
“Early Years 1: Thisorder” by the Bangkok Art and Culture Center (Thailand, 2017). Currently, he lectures full-time for the Visual Effects Department of the Faculty of Digital Art at Rangsit University in Thailand.
